Anybody have any alternative Sat Maps?
Since the iwindsurf coverage for Sat has been
down for more than a week and it would be nice
to see whats coming and what overhead in the greater
bay area and California.
Cutoff line for Sat coverage seems to be a north to south
line in the middle of Nevada.

Hi ctuna,

You can still see satellite imagery on the old Classic iwindsurf.com:

http://www.iwindsurf.com/windandwhere.iws?regionID=163&regionProductID=16&timeoffset=0

The provider for the satellite imagery on the new IW is doing a major hardware upgrade and is promising the imagery will be back up soon.

Are you sure that updates I have been looking at it over
the past few days and the overhead cloud pattern looks
close to the same whenever I look at it?
the numbers update but I am not sure the cloud cover is
updating.

You are right. There is no Aņo Nuevo clearing in the image which is the reality aat this time. Unfortunately, we can barely update the Classic web site anymore.

Sorry,

Mike

So are there any other sites you can recommend?

I have been using these but they lack resolution and I
am not sure if they update very often.

Try this: https://www.nrlmry.navy.mil/nexsat-bin/nexsat.cgi?BASIN=CONUS&SUB_BASIN=focus_regions&AGE=Latest&CCA=NorthAmerica-CONUS-West&SSC=x-California-x&PRODUCT=vis_ir_background&SUB_PRODUCT=goes_lowcloud&PAGETYPE=static&DISPLAY=single&SIZE=Full&PATH=NorthAmerica-CONUS-West/x-California-x/vis_ir_background/goes_lowcloud&ARROW=next&&buttonPressed=Latest

Sometimes it gets a bit behind but it's usually about 30 minutes old.
