Hello iwindsurf team,

The Sandy Hook sensor seems to be having periodic communication issues where wind readings drop to zero several times per day for extended period of time. Not sure if you are aware of the problem - just thought I'd bring it up as it's a critical sensor for us in NJ.

Thanks,
Rob

Update on the Sandy Hook weatherflow. The meter was removed by the park rangers because the building housing the meter is being demolished. So it looks like we are out of luck for some time until a new location can be found. See email response below from iwindsurf support. If anyone has a suggested new location, please share or reach out to the support team directly.

Thanks for writing in. Yes, you are correct - the station has been removed because the building we were mounted to has been demolished. Our sensor team will be searching for a new siting location and attempting to acquire permission for a replacement station as soon as possible. This is a formal legal process which can become tedious at times. We do not have a timeline on when a new station will be up and running at Sandy Hook. Wind readings at this popular location are extremely important to us so rest assured we will be as diligent as possible in securing a new site to install a new sensor. Thank you for your patience and support.

PS. Please feel free to share this news with other members. Also, if you have suggestions on a suitable location for a replacement station we would be happy to hear from you. Thanks again!
Kind Regards,
Tim Nicholas
