There it is again, for about the 100th time.
Mac: "Among the misconceptions that Techno posted about the strike would barely half fill the thimble he keeps next to his ten gallon pail full of anti-immigrant bias."
Just say it, you know you want to, "if you're for improved border security, you're a racist!". |

There are all kinds of biases. Some are anti-immigrant, some are anti-liberal, some are anti-Hispanic. How many of these are you proud to claim? |

Very easy question, anti-liberal, anti-socialism, and anti-communism, and most of all anti-identity politics, which you excel in. |

The Supreme Court, in a decision in which 2 Republican appointees agreed, concluded that the children of illegal immigrants are entitled to eduction in the US. If the administration would enforce the laws relative to confirming the legal status of new employees, there would be no jobs available for illegal immigrants and they would leave, or not come in the first place. So, the real problem is people hiring illegal immigrants. If you stop paying them, they will not come. |
I agree 100%, but much of the country seems to be dependent upon the illegal labor and simply won't enforce existing laws. But, states like California clearly don't want to discourage illegal workers, plus they do all that can, with lots of perks as well as ignoring federal laws to keep them working and willing to stay in the state.
Mac comes up with endless dribble, but never admits that it's the liberal government in the state that is sinking it's educational system. Or maybe it's actually doing really well, but I doubt that. It's easy to fix, just pay the teachers 100K a year with better benefits and thousands will flood into the system, creating smaller classes and a better education. So what's the problem, liberals are great at solving problems with taxes?
And the Charter schools? It's just so unfair to give students and families choices. Who initiated the Charter school program in Calif? Go research that one Mac and poke their eyes out.
I never said the state was doing a good job or a bad job, or what I am in favor of or against, or that illegals shouldn't get an education (that's just the typical BS speculation from Mac).
What's happening in Calif is self inflicted. I just pointed out some facts that others have stated, which are creating turmoil within the system. Mac votes in Calif, so it seems that he shares in the responsibility of what is happening. That's why Calif. is nutty. |

Perhaps the word that Techno was searching for when he avoided commenting on most of what I said, and his lack of understanding, was "drivel."
For future use, here is a definition: nonsense. "don't talk such drivel!"
synonyms: nonsense, twaddle, claptrap, balderdash, gibberish, rubbish, mumbo jumbo.
For sure, I don't want Techno having anything to do with education in California. Lazy and careless. |

What, nothing to say about YOUR states educational system. I can't imagine why. Where's your honesty?
Yes, and I got the word wrong. A great opportunity for you to deflect. At least I am honest.

Techno--I provided the information about the strike that you couldn't seem to find. It serves over 600,000 students and has over 1,000 schools. The teachers want smaller class sizes, nurses to give kids medication and to care for mental health issues. I guess those issues aren't important.
Over 70% of the students are Hispanic--but there are a host of languages. Triggers your buttons. Just to push your other buttons, I'll give you this factoid for North Carolina schools:
Quote: | In 2013, virtually all high school graduates in North Carolina took the ACT, earning an average composite score of 18.7, lowest in the country. Meanwhile, 62 percent of graduates also took the SAT, earning an average composite score of 1479.

Please, stay in North Carolina. |

Please, stay in Canada, where saying something constructive is apparently not expected. |

The reasons for the strike are well known, but what has caused the problems?????????
Why aren't you willing to acknowledge the real issue? NC teachers aren't on strike, but deflect all you want, because everyone knows that you will run when cornered. |
