Who are some celebrity windsurfers? I was discussing windsurfing with a non-windsurfer and the topic came up. I don't mean famous pro windsurfers. Who are people that are known to the general public for other things but also windsurf?
Apparently the keyboard players for Dire Straights do or did Windsurf.

Prince Charles, Juan Pablo Montoya etc. The list is nearly endless because windsurfing was the fastest growing watersport in the world during the 1980s.
Head to the Old School Windsurfer page on FB if you want to see the famous try their hands. Many on that page actually taught these folks. _________________ Support Your Sport. Join US Windsurfing!

I spotted Michael Berryman sailing quite well out at Coyote Point one day back in the late 80's, in fact he was very good, as good as anyone else out there that day. So who the hell is he? He's a character actor who's been in many movies and TV shows, including "Once Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest". I played pool with him on several occasions about 10 years before that when he hung out in the San Luis Obispo area, which is where I'm from, since '71 anyway.
I'd post a pic of him, but it would be more interesting if anyone who is interested, would just look him up so they can say "That guy?!?". He's easily recognizable for obvious reasons, super nice guy with a sharp sense of humor, good pool player also. |
