Peter Frampton still alive?

He's not exactly on my short list but he does have some great old tunes. Miller also.

I would much rather see Steely Dan tonight but I hate the Venue.

on 4th of July the right wing senate went to Russia to try to meet with Putin. they met with top russian trade group and the russian ambassador that trump jr asked if they could have secret calls with Putin at the russian embassy.

and not one dem went...

what the heck are they doing there, they said they were going to chew them out for interference, but their opening statement to the Russians was they were not trying to start a fight in essence and Russia said they doi not interfere and the right wing top leadership said excellent.

IE they went there to make sure Russia knows they have the green light to again interfere with the next election as there will be no investigation and consequences. And thy did this on the 4th of July... They are traitors and should be put on trial...

So, maybe no Americans, but a nice, peaceful place to play????

BCS murder rate up 433% in first quarter

Tuesday, June 27, 2017

The murder rate in Baja California Sur in the first three months of the year shot up by an alarming 433% over the same period last year as rival crime gangs settled scores and fought over territory.

There were 27 intentional homicides during the first quarter of 2016 and 144 this year.

Statistics from the National Public Security System show that extortion and kidnapping also increased.

On June 7 state authorities found 18 bodies — 13 men and five women — in a clandestine grave on a private property near Los Cabos. It was the first time that such a discovery had been made in the tourism-oriented region.
“For us this is totally unusual,” said state Interior Secretary Álvaro de la Peña Angulo. “It’s something unprecedented in the history of Baja California Sur.

“The whole country has a very acute problem and without any doubt the Baja California peninsula from Tijuana to Cabo San Lucas has been throughout history a springboard to [transport] drugs from south to north. That’s very attractive for criminals.”

The official says criminal groups from other states are to blame for the recent upswing in deadly violence.

And a couple of months later:

Deaths followed gunfire in Los Cabos, La Paz and Comondú

A travel warning Tuesday didn’t make a great start for the week in Baja California Sur but it ended far worse with a round of gangland killings in three municipalities in a period of less than two hours.

At the end of the day yesterday there were nine dead and three wounded in Los Cabos, Comondú and La Paz and all were related to organized crime, according to reports.

ya you first one is full of BS... cabo is not even a good place to move drugs to the USA... Horrible logistics for that. why would you stop in cabo as a drug runner. There is only one road and many checkpoints.

Ya idiot drug people taking out drug people is the 90 percentile....

When i was VP of engineering of a company in Evanston Ill. I lived about 6 blocks from the city of chicago. The street was Howard street. Mind you this was 20 something years ago. To get into Chicago millionaires and billionaires had to go through Howard street to get on LSD. (Lake Shore Drive) I have no idea how many years before that but the murder and shooting rate once you hit chicago for that area was enormous. There are pockets of Chicago where the crime rates are just ginormous, but you have the entire city to keep those pocket areas from making the top 10 worst places on earth. I remember one day waking to read that a child about 12 was accidentally hit in a drive by shooting about 2 blocks from where I was, there was major outrage and so on that lasted about a month and then back to normal like it had been for 20 years before and probably 20 plus years since I left.

Millionaires and Billionaires still do not blink an eye to drive right through there. I have a friend that is a chicago paramedic in one of those pockets, and still to this day he says the police will not respond in those real bad areas to a shooting right away. He says he the paramedic is there a long time before the police will show their faces, they do not want to be caught in the crossfire and do not care if the druggies kill the druggies.

The problem in mexico is the druggies kill the press like trump tells right wing haters to do. And they kill police officers and their families if they get in their way. But in general, as I said baja sur not one american has been killed by the cartel in the history of baja sur. In other parts of mexico where americans are involved in the drug trade americans do die I believe.

I would bet more americans die in grade school gun killings in the USA than americans via the cartel in a year in all of Mexico. And if you remove the ones that are active in the drug trade... well very low.. How many americans die from overdoses of the legal drugs in the USA.

Also if you notice the murder rate for 2018 has really dropped, there were two police apprehensions around january. In cabo they had a gun battle with about 5 or 6 heavily armed cartel with body armer. No ppolice of military died but every one of these assasins died. It is believe the police made sure they were dead, a few weeks before a police lutenant in the worst areas 17 year old son was kidnapped and tortured and killed to send a message to baja police. Well the police and military took the message and delived their own back to the cartel. A similar thing occurred in LaPaz, they captured alive I think 4-5 in a safe house. The police surrounded the house and gave some warning shots. The bullets did not make a dent in the house or the windows. So they brought in some major machineguns that you see on the back of the trucks. Even those did not make a dent in the concrete safe house and barely were able to penetrate the windows. not a single window was shattered. But well when surrounded by 100 police and military, you know they can bring in more powerful so the people gave up.

Since both of those incidents, the cartel upon cartel murder rate has dropped huge.

I credit the eyes in the sky that have been put in since a year ago. They have installed these poles that are really tall with cameras all over cabo and LaPaz at major junctions. So needless to say once a cartel hit is made you look for cars going way from the crime area, and if you find one that seems to always be leaving crime areas well geee... They say the chamber of commerce paid for them. Kinda like the english did in London to go after the terrorists.

Now note Mexico does not manufacture guns. USA companies make the guns the cartel have. So using the reagan doctrine of a countries right to invade a country that is allowing a legal product in that country to do harm to willing buyers in the USA. Does that mean Mexico and all south america has the right to bomb US gun manufacturers? Invade the USA because we do not stop our gun manufacturers from letting the guns end up killing their brother's sisters, judges, policemen, lawyers, reporters and so on... After all a difference here is drugs are not intended to kill, but guns are definitely intended to kill. ..

Prescription Drugs Kill Over 100,000 People Each Year

Quote:
For those who have not done the math, 52% equals 22,880 who actually died from prescription drug overdoses. That only counts the number of people who were sufficiently autopsied so that the actual cause of death was scientifically determined. This tally of 22,880 does not include the thousands of other takers of pharmaceutical medications who also died from overdoses but were not categorized as such. Surely there are untold accidental deaths from what essentially amounts to drug poisoning.

Republican lawmakers face Russian mockery following Moscow trip

Quote:

It’s hard not to wonder what they were thinking. Seven Republican members of Congress – six senators and one House member – traveled to Moscow ahead of the July 4th holiday, sounding a “conciliatory tone,” even as their colleagues released a report on the Russian attack on the American elections in 2016.
Rather than taking a firm stand against Russian aggression, Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), who chairs the Senate Appropriations Committee and has limited foreign policy responsibilities, told a leading official in Moscow, “I’m not here today to accuse Russia of this or that or so forth.”

At the Federation Council, Russia’s upper house of parliament, the Alabama Republican added, “We know that we need a new beginning, that we can go over recriminations on both sides for days in. But I believe Russia and the United States and the world will be a lot better off if we improve our relationship.”

The key phrase was “both sides” – as if, in Richard Shelby’s mind, Russia can credibly accuse the United States of having damaged relations.

The weakness did not go unnoticed. The Washington Post reported overnight:

Members of the delegation set off on their trip late last week promising to be tough with Russian officials ahead of the president’s visit, especially on matters of election interference. But they struck a conciliatory tone once there. […]

On Russian state television, presenters and guests mock
