Trying to assess probability of wind at Kailua for 2nd week in Dec. 2001.
i-windsurf archives show 8/31 days in Dec.2000 had some wind, and 3/31 days in Dec. 1999 as having wind.

Many days show no wind or no data. Is reported data accurate?

be scared! the wind is bad during that time here in Kailua. It usually gets good in the spring, but winter is very hit n miss. Even now, the wind gets flukey because of the tropical storms, that creep up above hawaii and kill the trades.

I think the records are accurate that you saw.

Maui is a better shot, but still flukey.

Bummer... Had hoped to find a location to fill the gap between the close out of the season in Los Angeles, and renewed thermals in the spring. Would not the tropical storms also kill trade winds on Maui? Kanaha Beach wind archives for Nov. 00 often show frequent rapid changes in wind direction that would make sailing tough.
