I'd go straight to Dave Nunn on that one. |
He wasn't sure..... he thinks the finbox wouldn't be sturdy enough in an inflatable. I have seem the finbox in rrd and starboard...they are pretty rigid, they may flex a bit.
Now how about these.... https://www.duo-boards.com/shop/
I was just thinking about this concept the other day. |

Manta shows an inflatable foil board on their website.
I'm still extremely curious to see if a foil can match formula for course racing. |

I thought I would get this thread about PowerPlates going again as I am considering getting one.
Has anyone here logged any appreciable time on a PowerPlate setup? If so, how many hours and how has your board held up? What finbox are you using. I'm also curious to know what foil systems people are using such as kite or SUP and what the ride is like.
Thanks! |

PP, or some kind of bottom plate on deep Tuttle is the strongest.
PP on power box is best used with shorter masts. Single bolt is suspect.
Foil over Formula mainly due to low end and slightly smaller sail..getting covered is not as bad. Overall course difference is very slight. |

What "speed" are we talking about?
Antoine can foil faster than we can slalom.
We can freeride faster than 95% of the foilers we encounter.
A course foil setup is slightly faster and a whole lot easier than formula. |

You're saying that sailing a windfoil is easier than sailing a formula... in fact, a whole lot easier ???
I certainly don't think so. And from my experience with others and lots of reading... I don't think most people would say that. _________________ Greg

Sorry. A novice sailor would agree with you.
An expert Formula sailor would agree with me, after he spends the 3 months required to learn to foil.
When learning either, it's very difficult. |

So has anyone had any long-term experience with the Power Plate on any of the three finbox options? Feedback is appreciated. Thanks. |

Not enough sample size, Pp now on about 10 days with Formula board, 4 with freeride, and 1 with power box 95 liter fsw. No problems on boards or twisting of Pp. |
