Get it straight. They are paying $38B in taxes in order to repatriate the cash held overseas, the rate is 15.5%....so you do the math, its a financial bonanza for Apple...look for massive buybacks and increased dividends. Apple is the LEAST capital constrained company in US history, so any expansion, or hiring is in the normal course of doing business.. You can thank Steve Jobs and Tim Cook for creating a product that costs $1,000, and sheeple will line up overnight to buy it.

So it's a bad thing? or are you just incapable of admitting it's a good thing.

No, I didn't say that...But analysis of past repatriation events shows that its neither bad or good....Matty, there's no free lunch on Wall Street, you should know that.

You do realize that this would have never happened if the tax bill wasn't passed, that bill you love to say that no dems voted for. So from where I sit it's mud on the faces of all those dems that said it would never work.

But feel free to try to continue to put this all down, it's at your own peril. As the unemployment rate among black, as well as Latinos, continue to drop to historic rates.

NW, there is no evidence that repatriation is good for the US economy. Its great for shareholders if they buy back stock. Whats your argument? Apple is the world's most valuable company with unlimited resources, and unfettered access to cash. Are you arguing that the company will now perform better now that they can move their overseas cash to the US with less financial penalty?
There's no free lunch on Wall Street...but it sure is funny seeing you guys jump on the first headlines....

There's no free lunch on Wall Street...but it sure is funny seeing you guys jump on the first headlines....

First headlines, what, where have you been?
Over 200 corps, pushing 300 have handed out bonuses and/or raises to it's workers, because they want to keep them, why? Because it's become a labor's/worker's market, workers can now be tempted to go elsewhere, for better pay, leaving a good paying job in the process. That is why Apple has given $2500 to each of it's employees, they don't want to lose them, all signs of a great and growing market. And you say "baaa" to the $38 billion that's coming back, you guys were clamoring about how do you pay for the tax cuts? Well that's $38 billion that they won't have to worry about, is it, just like that, and that is just one company.
Have you always looked your gift horse in the mouth?
You must be in some kind of turmoil, your politics are pulling you one way, and your stock portfolio and your 401K are pulling you the other way.
Would you be willing to give back all your gains during the last 11 months, to have Hillary in the White House? I doubt it.

De Nile remains front and center in the mind of Trumpists. Those who can’t do math seem to have no problem, now, with increasing the deficit—because it is not prioposed by Obama? And if 5% of the benefits go to the middle class, the rest to the ultra rich, and our children pay for it, why worry?

Unless you actually expected Trump to do something more for Main Street. https://www.politico.com/story/2018/01/18/factory-workers-trump-jobs-345493

Matty—. You can always visit agent orange in jail abd kiss his ass through the bars. Maybe you can even wear your pointy hat.

Money laundering, obstruction of justice, collusion, emoluments clause—take your pick.
