Techno asked a reasonable question—what should we have done differently. But then he jumped to It’s Jerry’s fault, and we shouldn’t beat on Tony Soprano. There are some thoughtful analyses out there, like this: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/santa-rosa-ignored-natures-warning/2017/10/18/54240560-b425-11e7-be94-fabb0f1e9ffb_story.html?utm_term=.40f8d75308b0

It was an illegal on an ICE detainor who caused this catastrophe. Forest management could have helped. We just trimmed 10 trees around our home because of fire danger.

Bard comes across as stupid because he gets his information from Trump administration officials and Breitbart. Here's a bit of journalism about his fake--and bigoted--posting:

Quote:
Sonoma County Sheriff Robert Giordano said in a statment today that the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency spread misinformation about the cause of his county's devastating fires and attacked his office in the midst of tragedy.

The sheriff was responding to a politicized statement made by ICE's acting director Thomas Homan of the Trump administration.

"Once again, a non-cooperative jurisdiction has left their community vulnerable to dangerous individuals and preventable crimes," Homan said about Sonoma County earlier today.

Lying from the Trump administration? Thousands of times.

The guy was arrested and had an ICE detainor.

The Islamic State included a report on the California wildfires in the news briefs section of their weekly newsletter, noting the property damage estimates and death toll of blazes that were the "worst in the history" of the state.

ISIS, which has encouraged followers to try arson as a terror tactic, did not take credit for starting any of the blazes.

"Strong winds hindered the efforts" in fighting the blazes, the terror group noted in al-Naba, a 16-page color newsletter distributed within ISIS territory and online as a PDF, while citing California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection as saying some bodies had been burned beyond recognition and would be difficult to identify. "Thousands of people became homeless," ISIS said, adding stats from earlier in the week on "the most destructive fire in the history of the state."

This past January, ISIS' Rumiyah magazine -- which is published in multiple languages including English -- stressed to would-be jihadists that "incendiary attacks have played a significant role in modern and guerrilla warfare, as well as in 'lone wolf' terrorism," claiming a November fire at a furniture factory in Losino-Petrovsky, Russia, and highlighting scores of wildfires around Israel that month as incidents that "demonstrated the lethality of such an effortless operation."

The source Bard doesn't give is PJ media. Pretty much extreme right bias, fake news when it fits their agenda. A merchant of outrage, they get rich stirring up bigots like Bard.

I scare myself.

100% bullshit, confirmed by the Sonoma Sheriff. Please , people have died, lives have been permanently altered. Sarah Palin has thrown out some anti brown people red meat, and the predictable response has been achieved.

The funny thing is, I posted a serious article about the issues of development at the urban fringe, where government has failed to protect us. Much of the area that burned also burned in 1964. The immediate response from the right is to blame it on an illegal immigrant--ginned up by Breitbart. The nativist slugs are out from under the rocks, and it will be difficult to get them back under. This is what Trump and Trumpists have done to America.

The California wildfires devastated the northern part of the state. Police initially arrested one suspect but released him after an investigation was conducted because the investigation led them to the actual person responsible for the fires: a 23-year-old man named Muhammad Islam.

Islam was born in Tehran, Iran and came to the United States in 2015 on a student visa, which expired when he dropped out of Dartmouth in November 2016. Fox News reported Thursday:
