Arcata, Eureka CA sailing

Appreciate any info on sailing around Arcata/Eurka Bay area and any leads on rental equipment. Thanks

While driving towards Pistol I noticed that the beach that the freeway drives along just north of Eureka was going off. I dont know what it was called, but if you look at a map you can figure it out. Dont know anything about rentals or anything, just made a mental note that it can blow right there. The beaches just directly north didnt have anything going on either. So its my totally non-local, one sighting belief that the wind must accelerate there such as it does at many good sailing sites. That site is close enough to the bay, I think youd find sailing in the bay as well, but I didnt see anything about that.
