I have a Mistral Electron board that I bought used a year ago and I wanted to move the foot straps forward a notch but I can not figure out how to take them out of the board. There is a black plastic lever which I have tried to twist and to pull on to no avail. Does anyone know how to get the straps off? Thanks. |

I have to ask someone, but I thought most Mistral boards came with a anti-twist device, that was made of 2 black plastic pieces, with a screw through the center. Check in the footstrap to see if there is a screw head under the neoprene end.
Maybe there was some other weird thing they had, I can find out. |

There isnt any visible screw head. I think these were Mistrals attempt at having footstraps that dont require any tools. There are star shaped indents in the board and a screw hole in the middle but it has a big black plastic handle sticking up from the washer and plastic piece that lays on top. It would seem that you are supposed to twist it like a screw but either it is stuck, or it is not supposed to turn because I cant get it loose. |

yes, you are right, as I found out today. The lever is a locking mechanism that twists to unlock the footstrap. The lever should turn, if not, it probably is encrusted with salt and sand.
try soaking it first and then try the lever. |

I hope its not too late..
I had this problem with my Explosion..you have to obliterate the plastic overlays with a large diagonal cutter and a utility razor, and a pair of pliers to finish it off..underneath the plastic are small cap screws with 5/16 (I think) hex heads, then just use a socket to take them out.
