Anybody know anything about Piedras Blancas? Is it really as windy as the sensors indicate? Where do you go to sail? Camping spots down there? What are the conditions usually like? Most importantly, WILL IT BE WINDY DOWN THERE NEXT WEEKEND?
any help is graetly appreciated, THANKS! |

Usually people sail at Arroyo Laguna which has a fun quick wave and great wind. Yes the sensors pretty accurate so bring your small stuff for the late afternoon sesh. Also good sailing up by the lighthouse but watch the launch, pretty rocky. Arroyo is probably my favorite place to sail. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends but you can always sail away from the masses, and Ive caught many solo sessions midweek. Theres a campground south of San Simeon that usually has openings but if you camp in the primitive area it can be pretty windy, its much better to stay in the lower section which is mostly grass. Cambria has great grinds after sailing. Happy sailinng...K.P. |
