Looks like we are in for some wet and windy weather tomorrow and some pretty mild and windy weather for Sunday. Who is sailing where?

Gonna try and catch a session in between the heavier showers if possible at the Spy House on Raritan/Sandy Hook Bay. Google "Ideal Beach in Middletown. East/NE is a good direction there. Maybe sail the same place Sunday too if its mostly out of the north.

Would love to try spyhouse but it's almost a 2 hour drive from Philly and time is a tad limited tomorrow. It's still on my list! I may end up at lakes bay due to close proximity.
I assume no one will be ocean side, mostly cross onshore for lbi.
Cheers,

NE is actually the preferred direction for ocean sailing LBI (the iand is oriented NNE). If it has too much North in it, the wind will be blocked by the land making it variable on the inside and difficult to get out, but NE can be excellent. Not sure if you could expect anyone else there though tomorrow because the forecast is pretty sketchy with the amount of rain being predicted.
Otherwise Trixies would be a good bay option for bump and jump sailing. Lakes Bay would be quite offshore on a NE wind direction.
LBI bay side, Seaside, or Lavallette would be good choices for bay sailing the NW predicted on Sunday.

Ended up at Holgate Beach. Only managed to sail for about 45 min when My 4.7 started to get too big. Nice big rollers came through, pretty daunting spot to sail alone. Would like to give that spit a go again in NE. |

I'll join you at Holgate on the next NE. Sailed there alone also a few years back. Perfect ocean spot for a NE.

Yea, please continue to post if you plan to sail there. In the off chance I'm able to break away and get down there, I'd be more inclined to go if I know other's will be there. There are some other folks who tend to sail there on solid (and even not so solid) NE days, but were probably put off by the amount of rain predicted for this one.
