Billions would die if we went back to organic gardening. We couldn't produce enough food. This includes GMO farming which I'm not happy about |

"Why don't the Democrats in congress suggest that we cut Medicare?"
Because they clearly realize that it's not a good idea. Once you're eligible for Medicare and transition to it, you'll begin to realize that it's a wonderful program that offers needed support and coverage for elderly folks at a crucial time in their life. You have to understand that the majority of Americans aren't wealthy, particularly in their fading years where fresh income isn't so easy to obtain and their health can be less than robust. |

Did you hear about the 21 TRILLION IN DEPT?. In the real non public sector world cutting cost is a necessity not an option to pass on to the next generation. Just take some trash with you like NP and you will survive. |
Matty...if you do budgeting for dummies on the back of an envelope, the only way to dent the long term debt trajectory is by chopping into entitlements programs, primarily healthcare. So, Trump is window dressing with all sorts of small ideological cuts to satisfy the Budweiser drinkers, and to stick it to his political adversaries. |

OMG! You and other posters were screaming about how Obamacare cut Medicare spending. It did. To the tune of some $700 Billion. The drafters of the plan recognized that Medicare unit costs were going to hurt us big time down the road...worse than short term increases in Medicaid in the plan.
The idea (and I deal with this daily) is to begin paring down Medicare costs thru a number of methods...reduce reimbursements, incentives for efficiencies and moving services from specialist to other providers.
The Obama Administration also went after wasteful Medicare Advantage plans and fraud.
You don't hear Ryan complain about the details within the ACA that deal with Medicare...have ya ever wondered why? |
