Had a great session at Scarborough. Nice way to start the New Year. Beautiful ramps and rides.

Nice. Larry and I scored a nice little session at South Shore. Big gear, gusty, but waves were ridden and fun was had. Plenty of parking As Larry said, "good for the soul" |

Was eyeing Wednesday enough to set up an all day work thing on Tuesday. Now the Wed forecast seems to be shifting earlier ... Wait and see.
Would be in RI. Getting to the time of the year where you're lucky to find one person to sail with. JP |

Jay,
Things did look promising earlier and was ready for dawn patrol at Matunuck, but now focusing on Thursday PM.

Lars, Thursday is possible for me. Will keep you posted. If it's going to be warmer and some wind I will go for it.
How was the launch at Scarboro last week ? Matunuck side was big but doable with good timing. I managed to ride a few waves and not break anything. Not a lot of time on the water; Never felt dialed in. Good to be humbled every so often. I put some pics up on the southern rhode island surf facebook.

Jay,
I can not do Thursday, but I may still try going to Matunuck first thing Wednesday. There may still be some remnant winds early, before slowly diminishing.

My Thursday report: Decent waist to shoulder waves, borderline wind, Side-on-on direction, WARM!, NO GLOVES! Mixed it up with windsup and windsurfer, never really stayed in the windsurfer wind speed range. Had fun at Pt Judith, a few kiters and three windsurfers out.
The windmeter at PJ reads considerably high for the south or sw direction. (which has been true for years) Meter said 22avg whole time I was out, I would say it was 17 avg. JP |
