If you get video shot from land, we will have a better idea of accuracy because then there will be points of reference as you fly across the field of view. You are big and can handle a huge sail in moderate wind, that is for sure! I wouldn't last on that sail. |

Its possible to hit 40 mph on a Kona, but highlybunlijely using the 9.0!and class legal booms. The rig is too unstable and draggy. I feel confident that such a speed is possible on the 8.2, but the booms remain a limitation as does the fin.
Using a full. Race sail with carbon booms and fin with less drag (36-42cm racing fin) will supercharge the Kona in high winds. The hull,s performance exceeds that of the class legal rigs. _________________ Support Your Sport. Join US Windsurfing!

Leo, we're all looking forward to seeing your progress. As a Kona owner and sailor, and a speed racer, I can appreciate what you're doing.
Hopefully your new device will be trustworthy.
I did hit some good speeds during the Bridge to Bridge race this year on the Kona. But nothing in the really high speeds. When the conditions are good, I will try to set a record for you.

I'm impressed by the endurance aspect of that and also that you're consistently going 23-25. Maybe I should get a Kona. |
