I do think that windsurfing is the best thing to do in Aruba. However, other things include A driving tour to the other side of the island (it is cool looking desert scape), afternoon sailing trip (aka Booze cruze), snorkling and diving, shopping at Royal Plaza, Rent bikes, gamble, go bowling, lay around and drink. Beyond that, ask the Vela employees, Dasher or Tony, they will have more ideas for you.
Have Fun!

Dont hesitate and go to Aruba. If you are planing in the straps and want to work on your jibes, it is a great place. You have the choice of sailing in shallow water which minimises your efforts or sail further away from shore.Dont believe those who say that is a place for experts due to the off-shore winds.

Id suggest that you stay at the Boardwalk with Vela. The apartments are great, you have the swimming pool and hot tub to yourselves and its only 200 metres from the Marriot and the sailing areas. In addition is much cheaper than the hotels.

Hope this helps

If you want to get your jibes down, attend a windsurfing camp. If you like to gamble, but hate Las Vegas and want to spend a lot of time and money to visit a mediocre casino, then go to Aruba.
