I wouldnt mind windsurfing out of the bay every once in a while, and was wondering if anyone knows how to predict 10+ knots winds at Lake Del Valle reservoir in Livermore.
Or does anyone have any recommendation on other lakes in the East Bay?

Go to Ken Poultons web site. iT LISTS AN HOURLY WIND READING FOR lIVERMORE WHICH SHOULD BE CLOSE TO lAKE dEL vALLE CONDITIONS. Only other lake Ive heard is decent is Contra Loma in Antioch (for learning) |

Has a good real time wind prediction map. If you watch the patterns for the day, based on the wind strength near SF you should be able to learn to predict strong winds on Del Valle. Try overlaying another appropriately scaled map to find Del Valle...
I used to fly R/C gliders there nearly all the time, up in the hills on the way to Del Valle.. that map does a decent job of predicting. For that hill anyway, when it predicts ~10 its probably at least 6-7, and when it predicts 15 good chance its really rocking.
