That's a great story and a great history picture.

A funny thing about the weather, whether or not anyone wants to sail, it still gets some awesome NE conditions

I did my first waterstart in Pleasant bay, maybe 1984 ? Fell off the Strato still hooked in, wind started to pull me up, got my feet back on the board and off I went ... I thought; that was easy.
Does anyone ever sail out of ministers point ? seems like good access to the cut.

We used to go there "ministers pt" pre GW

Reality is that this past week is the first time we have had and solid NE wind in a few years.

Both Chatham cuts have been off the list due to lack of NE winds and the GW sharks. Most of the best wave sailing there is far off shore.

I miss going. there can be some really great sessions in and around the cuts.

Will see what fall brings

This stretch of NE wind without rain is remarkable. Showing gale force Wed-sun now.
I was watching the conditions about a year ago from Ministers pt and thought about sailing out to the cut. I was solo and ended going to Mayflower.
It's been just a touch light for windsurfing in RI, but waves have been decent. A few guys sailing 85L boards, Iv'e been out on the 110L but mostly relaxed on the Sealion. Nice to be in the water and not worry about what's swimming under you.
Few shots from yesterday.

thanks for putting up the google earth picture. never had a compass in my hand at jackknife and always assumed it aimed ENE, but any more E of NE it certainly blocked.

Aka: DonC - anyone heading to Pleasant Bay (Jacknife Cove) tomorrow to catch the NE wind? Hoping mid-day high tide won't make access to the beach inaccessible.

I bet the parking lot will be under water for sure tomorrow at high tide so watch where you park. Tide was huge today! N/NE push will stack it up even more.

Nice shots JP!

Possible late day session for me tomorrow and possible Friday session before I fly the coop.

Hi:

straight up -- the sailing was gusty today, slogging to full on with a 4.2 happened enough to knock it down to a b ranking.

I'm not gonna complain - blessed to be able to get a way for a "nooner".

one more thing --

Even with a high high tide yesterday, the parking lot was bone-dry at least to 1:30 when I left. Afternoon sailing for here on out should fine at the bay.

Jerry talked about the limited number of wave sailors around. I'm not one of them. Although no big waves, P. Bay will be good.
