Could you be a little more specific - where will you be based, in the north of England, near London, in the southwest...?? Generally winter/spring and fall provide the most consistent winds although there are normally plenty of decent summer days - they just dont occur on weekends!
The wind is driven by low pressure systems coming across the Atlantic, so keep an eye on the TV forecasts (BBC1 is the most reliable). The shipping forecast on Radio 4 (198 Long Wave) is useful too. |

Hayling Island, about two hours drive from London on the South Coast is a good spot. Summer is the best time |
