I just moved to france and i am looking for places to sail near Paris. I know of the coastal areas but i was wondering if there are any good lakes around to sail at?

When I lived in Paris there was a lake south of Versailles but I dont rememebr the exact area. Your best bet may be Normandy. Its just 2 hours away.
Ask the local stores like Quai 34, they would know.

Here, practice your French:

Il y a un lac qui sappele Pose. Il se situe un peu avant ROUEN le long de lA13. Il faut prendre la direction Val de Reuil.
Cest un très grand lac qui est en effet bien venté.
Je pense que de PARIS, ce nest pas plus de 1H15 de route.

I Pyro,
Im unfortunately from there (nice country but Paris is definately not good for windsurf). The most famous spot is Creteil. This is a big lake pretty windy. You have many other lakes of different sizes around Paris but dont expect to be able to windsurf every week. You can try Moisson-Lavacourt, Cergy-Pontoise, Lavacourt etc... All depends where you are in Paris. If youre not affraid of driving a couple of hours for good wind, Normandy is definately the best solution. You can try to go to the forum of Wind Magazine (www.windmag.com) where youll find a lot of frustrated parisians planning trips to Normandy. Anyway, have a good one and dont hesitate to send me a message if you want more precise info !!
