I was on the water. My wife who was in the van saw this guy inspecting my bag then look left and right then grabbed my bag and go.
She ran out of the van and yelled: "hey sir its not yours", and the guy replied "oh sorry", and went away.
Just to remind all of you that those assholes do exist among the windsurfing community.

This is happening all over the place. The Meth Heads will steal anything. they have no idea what they are stealing. I would love to leave some stuff on the beach, but no. Beside the blatant thief's, there are the people who will grab anything and take it. How was your wife able to id the guy as part of the windsurfing community?

Well the guy was thin, muscled and seem to know what to look for.
He turned the board bag on every angle, before taking it under his arm and walk away.
The average joe non-windsurfer would just grab and go.
Windsurfer or not. I'll now lock and keep everything in sight.

The highly experienced cops who teach the gun courses I've taken trace the vast majority of property/cash-related crimes back to drugs. They also say that many street drugs make many criminals very dangerous by making them much more aggressive and more impervious to logic, threats, TASERS, and even bullets. Those two factors should probably influence whether and how we deal with crooks real time.

Some equipment was left behind at South Beach on Friday. Someone picked it up and got it all back to its owners except for one windsurf waist harness. I have it now. See the lost and found add if this rings bell for you or someone you know. It's posted there and I'd like to find the owner.
