Im having difficulties catching the sail when Im tring to jibe. Im very close to getting it, however, I seem to be just a little off. I have tried to lower the boom and seem to be even closer. Does anyone have any other ideas or are in the same situation? Please help so I dont look like a bozo when sailing at Dougs. Thank-You.

MAny of us spent years just missing our jibes, only to learn with every passing month or season that we were actually not even close yet. Planing through a jibe requires success in about a dozen individual steps; planing through them consistently requires blending those dozen steps into one fluid motion. Describe in greater detail your present problem, as well as what preceded it, and maybe we can get specific.
And if youll post your e-mail address, Ill send you my jibe instructions, which many people have complimented. Mayube theyll help you narrow down the problem.

Im no expert but...
I made the jump from just missing to just making my jibes last year, and one major thing that helped me in the sail flip was to keep the mast as close to my body as possible. Before, I was jibing with both of my arms extended and the sail away from my body. I noticed when I kept the sail closer to me, especially the front hand by the mast, the sail flip was easy, and worrying about catching it wasnt even an issue.
Just my 2 cents.
