You might try moving your mast base forward in the mast track. I find that if my rig is to far back Im not centered in the straps and my front foot wants to sneak out.

Since you are probably sailing in a lot of chop you maybe bending your back leg too much. I used to lean back a lot to try and keep from pounding through the chop. Even though it feels like you are going to go flying foward try bending your front knee slightly like trying to sail upwind. You may also have an imbalance with your gear such as too big or too small a fin or possibly too big or small a sail in relationship to your board. These two things can alter your stance and through off the rigs center of gravity causing you to have to compensate with your stance. The other guys tip of moving your mast base forward is also a great idea.

You can do two things to move your weight forward: 1. Move the mast forward. 2. Lower your boom.
Do an inch at a time. If either of the above are out of adjustment, you will not be able to completely close the gap with your sail.
