I have two boards that I usually bring to the beach with me and I am always worried that the one that is sitting on my car will be stolone while I am sailing. Any suggesions on how to lock it or secure it to the roof rack? or anything that would prevent it from being stolen.
Thanks

i have been using a locking attachment that attaches to a chinook fin box and then you thread a 1/4 cable thru it and the cable ends lock together around your roof rack. i am not sure what its product name is, i always bought mine at 2nd wind in hood river, they would know what it is if you call them.

you can buy a small device that fits into the mast track. You then thread a cable through the device and under you racks (this assumes your racks are locked to the car). I got mine at Windsurf Warehouse in San Francisco.

Try a bike lock cable through your footstraps and through your roof rack. Not completely theft-proof, but a deterent.

Maybe you should be thinking about investing in an enclosed trailer... see

On the Community Forum / Region Topics / Trailer Coop. (copy above url into browser for direct access to site.)

Hey, isnt the profile of the typical windsurfer that they are a rich boy/girl trust-fund baby? Not likely that they need to steal your crap in the first place.
