Longboard?should I spend the $$

Im sort of an begining intermediate sailor @ Bodega. Have an F2 Axxis 260, am in the harness and foot straps (always the front..back one still a little tricky). Can go scary fast, but want to learn to jibe. Im thinking of buying a longboard for lake sailing..hoping that it will help me learn about sail handling..am I wasting my time?? FuzzyWymer

No you are not but buy a used one cheap since your fascination with longboarding will come and go

Dear Fuzzyone,

A longboard or a wide board would help you learn to jibe. If you can afford one of the new wide boards go for it. If you want to get a cheap fix, you could probably find an old longboard for a few dollars. Let me know where you are standing and Ill be happy to help you select one.
