All of my gear was stolen out of my van Wednesday (2/11/15) night in Concord, CA. I’ve been so shook-up it has taken me a couple of days to get it together enough to make a list of what was lost. Please keep an eye-out for this stuff, it has taken years to finally get my dream quiver together, was very much looking forward to the upcoming season, and now it’s gone. Not a good time in my windsurfing life.

That really sucks, Dos. Especially since it's hard to imagine they'll realize much value on the resale market (compared to the value to you).

Check Craigslist and eBay, and alert shops in the extended area.

Good luck . . .

Sucks unbelievably. You had the ultimate quiver there.

Be sure to check with your insurance companies (car insurance, homeowners insurance, etc) to see what coverage you have for your stolen property. It is not unusual for a certain amount of $ or at least a % of what was lost to be covered.

It would take much time and space (an empty VAN) to burgle your gear out of your van. SO, there was a PLAN. Whoever burgled your van knew what was in it ahead of time. The whacked out thing about this is (as somebody else has pointed out already) it will take much effort and time to sell all this LARGE and nit-picky particular stuff (fins, extensions, etc.). And the sales revenue will not be all that great. So I do NOT think the burglar is a windsurfer. Otherwise, ONLY the easily-liquidatable commodity-type stuff (masts, sails) would have been stolen.

Whoever stole is likely A) known to you somehow (from the beach, neighborhood, etc.), B) not a windsurfer, and C) could have a drug problem, such as meth. Meth is quite an emboldening yet irrational thing. It makes little sense that your LARGE stuff was stolen as it takes up too much storage space and is very difficult to move, sell, and ship. It doesn't make sense. But yet it's all gone, in one bold move. That's why I include meth.

All that stuff is sitting in a huge pile in some storage unit or garage right now. Meth-heads are great at stealing but suck at selling. Because nobody will buy from them. They are known for using (usually pretty young girls) to sell their stolen gear. When their "hoards" are found after a bust, it is amazing how big and disorganized the pile is.

Just my 2 cents, and I feel your pain.
