Hello to So Cal Sailing folks! I have never been but would like to know best lauch site for Santa Anas - looks like this week could produce. Are there any good wind sensors to judge if it is On or not? Other wind directions/types to look for? I have sailed the Sacramento Delta for years, but transplanted down here to the OC and jonesing for a wind session!
Anyone that can comment on Lake Perris, I would certainly appreciate any 411.
Cheers! |

liv4air you should come sail with us at Cabrillo Beach. Getting a good Santa Ana session at Perris is tough and very seasonal. Has to be Santa Ana blowing from the NE. Even then it's all about timing and having a group of fellow wind-junkie sailors helps you nail the window. Cabrillo on the other hand is windy most summer days. Hope to see you around! |

Ben Spikey. That is some great intel! I will look for the wind indicators and plan accordingly. Obviously, tough to pull the trigger during any rush hour window but otherwise looks like it is about an hour door to door. Are you talking wave sailing or bump and jump typically. What is ideal wind direction and tide? Thanks for the reply and I will shout out when I get up there for a session. Cheers! |

Because of "climate change" C street has been switching to the west lately. |

So does the Westerly direction give you side-on or staight onshore there? |
