Oh dude. Its official. Tyson Poor and I are headed back to Cabarete April 13th for another round of Cabarete Pro Clinics. I think this is 4 years in a row. Last year we had solid wind every day and it started with the biggest swell they saw all year. I managed to make it out after 5 chicken Jibes and caught 4 waves before breaking my mast and spending the next hour and a half swimming in. That happy hour was legendary though. What a greeting.
After that we had solid 5.0 and waist to head high waves all week, perfect for teaching. We saw people learn a lot from getting dialed in the straps to throwing their first loops on the reef. Cabarete is perfect for all levels with nice bump and jump conditions on the inside and waves 300 yes out at the reef.
Plus the nightlife is all time and the food and beer are good and cheap.
We have two rounds of clinics set up through Vela first one starts April 13th.
Its going to be all time!

Can't wait to get back there this spring! Hopefully we get the same wind and waves to make for another epic trip. I heard all the local windsurfing boys are going to be back from Europe to take over the reef again! Yew!

So stoked. Buying my ticket right now. Last year was such a hoot, with people learning to get in the straps the same day we had people learning to loop. Soo much fun. And since all the Cabarete Beach boys were there the reef was going off with hooting and hollering and back loops. So much windsurf pride going on. Can't wait to get back. Definitely need a club sandwich or 10 from the Vela restaurant. ahhhhh so ready to be back
A tradition unlike any other.

Any chance you guys will be there earlier than 4/13? I have to leave the next day--couldn't swing the clinic, dammit--but I'd be interested in a private lesson or two if you're getting their earlier.

Just found out a bunch of the Local windsurf crew is going to be back in town so the reef is going to be going off again.
Soo stoked. Tickets have been purchased and we are only 4 weeks away from a tradition unlike any other.
