Hello:
After a very quiet summer, this troll is starting to crawl out from underneath a rock.
After getting my a$$ kicked last weekend by the Kook, Hardie, Gil and a bunch of others, I’m ready to cherry pick the forecast for a staycation on late Friday morning.
A north wind at Skaket is a good angle.
The parking lot is open and not charging. The restrooms will also be open and cleaned by the night before by my good friend Tom. It’s a high-high tide so conditions will be changing fairly quickly.
COASTAL WATERS FROM PROVINCETOWN MA TO CHATHAM MA TO NANTUCKET MA
.FRI...N WINDS 15 TO 20 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 KT. SEAS 3 TO
5 FT. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS.
.SUN...N WINDS 15 TO 20 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 KT. SEAS 4 TO
6 FT.

Ron, if the wind comes on Friday as promised, we may come over for a sail, and bring Caesar Finies along with us. Depending on wind forecast (drop after noon?) and when we can get going, we might go to one of the town landings to get onto the water earlier.

Ron, I've wondered why you use the coastal waters forecast instead of the cape cod bay forecast which is always less wind and waves, ie.
cape cod bay-
902 pm edt wed sep 10 2014
.
.fri...n winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. seas 2 to
4 ft.
..sun...n winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. seas 2 to
3 ft
Which is more accurate? I would get excited looking at the coastal but not the CC Bay one...

I've been using the free Windguru. It's the same forecast at all the cape sites they list. (Kalmus and Chapin would show the same in a north or south wind. ) Been pretty accurate this year.
My interpretation of their ratings: (5.7 windsup, 5.3 / 92L windsurf):
* = windsup / maybe windsup
** = windsup / maybe windsurf
*** = usually windsurf

Remember that iWindsurf also has the same free model forecasts that guru has -- and more.
Select your forecast model or just look at the Quicklook which is usually pretty good around Cape Cod.
Global iWindsurf:
Nantucket Sound Buoy - current wind, model forecasts, NWS forecast, etc.

The iWindsurf meteorologist team writes their own Cape Cod forecast as well, of course -- generally the most detailed forecast around -- and has been a favorite of windsurfers for over 25 years:
