So a few weeks back I started to get a message on my phone that says the map can not be viewed and you need adobe flash player version 9.
I tried to download the version on my galaxy 3s but it is not available.
Whats the deal I have been able to see the maps for years now I need adobe
version 9?
I don't care much for the wind alerts version, not set up real well.
any solutions to this problem |

Hi2bluehawaiians,
Here is my understanding: There are 2 versions of the iwindsurf.com web site.
a. the legacy one with ancient code that does not use Flash for the maps: http://www.iwindsurf.com/windandwhere.iws?regionID=163®ionProductID=1&timeoffset=0 This should work fine on your phone
b. There is also a later version of iw that does use Flash and which is probably the site you are having trouble with your older version of the Android OS. This site was put together before smart phones and once it became clear that Flash would not be universally supported on devices we went a completely new web site, Windalert.com, which is HTML5.
Windalert has tons of bells and whistles and is aimed at people ranging from regular wind hunters to forecasting pros. But the interface is not a simple as the legacy iwindsurf.com and it is presently awkward to use on a phone. So until we get the GUI for WA optimized for all devices you might want to just use the legacy site.
It this does not help let me know and I will forwards messages to out IT staff who know what they are talking about.

There's a whole bunch of problems with global.iwindsurf.com -- missing sensors, no apparent way to get at various things like wind yesterday, last 7 days etc etc (maybe it's hidden under the 'more' tab which is totally obscured by the black bar at the bottom). If you enter a location like La Ventana, it centers the screen about a thousand miles north. |

Thanks for the reply, I still would like to know why I can not access the maps like I have for years on iwindsurf on my phone? Did something get changed? adobe flash player is not an option with my android devise. It worked fine for years now I can not access the same options?
Yes I tried the globaliwindsurf and wind alerts not quite the same missing many features.
Thanks again, 2bluehawaiins

Give a shout to support @ i windsurf dot com. Be specific with URL that you are trying to access, etc, etc. Screen shots would be very helpful. And the specs of your phone as well.
Remember that the forums are not meant to be a customer support space, and the iW programmers do not have the chance to regularly read the forums. |
