The world is a strange place, there is a retro woody wagon, a jeep I think, tooling around Kauai with a fake yellow surfboard bolted to the roof. A guy I was working with pointed it out, he had seen it up close. I looked for a picture on the internet but perhaps it's a one of a kind. Very puzzling when you think about it.
As for silicone I suppose it depends how porous or clean the objects being glued are. I remember trying to get a 2X4 off a cinder block, when I finally pulled them apart some of the cinder block came off with the silicone (silicon?) |

Lots of boards fly off cars so a through bolt mounting for SUP couldn't hurt. |
