For around 10 days the Gorge and the Bay Area coast and parts of the Peninsula had weaker than normal winds. And almost every day the forecasts mentioned the monsoonal clouds, humidity and even sprinkles. Here is the story about this unusual wind pattern.
As always, great info Mike! I've only lived in the Gorge for six seasons now, but have never experienced a loss of wind for over a week during the peak season (end of July, beginning of August) like we have seen this year...Hopefully conditions will return to a more normal setting now.
Nice analysis as always Mike. It might be interesting to look for correlations with other years where we had such nice summer like Junes. The month of June really felt like July with lots of steady corridor days and limited June gloom on the west side of The Cascades.
