Of COURSE we're at war within; that's an inherent byproduct of a level of diversity rare in any other country.
Given all those murders, why would anyone want to unilaterally and selectively disarm the law-abiding victims? |

There are many countries as diverse as the US.
The large number of gun deaths is mostly because of the large number of guns.
There is no attempt to disarm us in the US.
It is easy for psychos and criminals to stroll into a gun show and stock up on murder weapons with the tacit support of the NRA. They make money from murder. |

Confiscation of all guns will not be an overnight event, it will take many years. Look how it has been done in other countries, first assault weapons and handguns then they gradually whittle it down to single shot long guns, then they say these guns must be kept locked up at a gun club then finally they come and get them.
Most American politicians are savvy enough to not call for an outright confiscation, instead they support groups that do this so they can have plausible deny ability. Too many people in America support the second amendment so for a politician to come out against it, well it's a tough sell and likely won't get them elected.
A few have called for total confiscation, http://www.gwu.edu/~ccps/pop_disarm.html
It's more a case of the boiling frog. |

I do not believe that KC. You could quadruple the number of guns here and the murder rate would drop. |

The paranoids weigh in, making it up as they go, and accusing Obama of wanting to confiscate guns. Do you have anything where he actually said that? |

Yes, I have a question. Can you produce one single quote where Obama said you should not be able to own any type of gun at all? |

Bard,
Why do you think that? When they greatly increased guns in Belize, the number of gun deaths went up by several thousand percent.
Those pics of folks who think Americans should have guns should include nearly all liberals. Guess there wasn't enough space.
Could you give us a list of the main pols who are trying to take our guns away with a quote?
I can't find any . Neither can BB. He says it is a secret program and showed us a plan written by gun dealers.
Can you tell me why I have been hearing for 50 years that they are taking our guns and "they" never showed up?
After decades or centuries of "they"never actually trying to take our guns is there a time when educated folks realize it is all a LIE?

So, by logical extrapolation, you could reduce the number of guns to zero and the murder rate would go through the roof.
Right?
