The water temp is not that bad really. If you try it you would find out for yourself. You might even like it. I'm fine barefoot no hood no gloves 4/3. The air temp down there is very nice too.

Yeah Jim.
Man-up, water is fine with the right wetsuit and guess what you have have Big-Tuesday gorge swell about every other day at the coast on the outside.
When the waves are 4-5 feet the outside swell is sometimes 10-12 feet at
Florence and Pistol.

Been there done that. I have sailed pistol more then once. My first time back in 02. I will never forget that day. It was 4.2 for us full size people.
Victor was standing on the beach shaking his head about how windy it was.
That was my first day wave sailing and I broke nothing.
I really just post to give Trudy something to harass me about.
Oh look its flat water the hatchery. Ha[/i]

Well I understand Jim that you don't want to
make the drive. By the way on the mast
high day there were 4 broken masts and two
ripped sails.
Now don't you want to come to the coast and
break all your gear and drive for 14 hours to
do it?
I'll see you at Rowena this year, been there twice.

I drove up to Pistol for the first time last year from the SF area, the same 6.5 hours.....on the way to the Gorge. When I was done sailing I seriosuly considered staying. It is a dream . Unlimited terrain, spectacular scenery...almost too good to be true.

Actually we headed down there last weekend and the wind died. I know I know it blew this weekend but I hate traffic. Probably early august.
