Finally felt good sailing after my hand injury (nasty ladder fall) from a month and a half ago. 4.7/90 at Coyote at the beginning of ebb. A bit tentative on my gybes, but after a dozen turns I was beginning to crank them more aggressively. It was blowing 25 to 28 out at the channel so Coyote delivered. Now that the hand is getting better I need to sail more to catch up! Smile

TI on Sunday where the graph looked terrible and light winds upwind at Aquatic Park. But Pt. Blunt Angel Island Sensor was showing 25mph so we went out on bigger sails. Wind line just offshore and soon overpowered on my 5.9 and Dave on his 6.0. And wishing we could have rigged at Angel Island on our 5.0s! Way better sailing than the sensor indicates.

Berkeley was surprisingly good in the early afternoon. Even though it was flooding, there were good waves which were fun to jump and surf.

Massive Bluntage. 4.7 yesterday, 4.2 today. Slight misalignment between today's forecast of "possibly near 20" and observed solid low 30s. But what is a 50% error with no hedge among friends?

If the forecast is in the green zone, I gird my loins for a cranker.

I guess the forecast was right.... but just two days off. TI went off today; windy up toward the City and windier yet downwind and out toward Richmond. On a flattened 5.0 and wishing it was smaller. Nice ebb rollers everywhere. Does it get more perfect than this?

Although not expected (iWindsurf), Sherman Island Access was very good today, with large, rolling, white caps to play on. Pictured is Ethan.

good quick early afternoon session off Brooks island. Not too windy but the 5.9 was working well. each time i poked out into the circle it seemed a bit light. Best pressure was right there between brooks and RYC. a couple of kites came out to the Potero reach on my way back.

Drove over to the "warmth" of Larkspur this 4th.
Reading were mostly "11-19".
Rigged 5.5's, but decided to try a Shark145 at 75 cm wide with a tiny 34 fin, straps out and back all the way.
Slogged out 6 tacks.
Powered to the max for over 1.5 hours after that, starting around 3, when the readings were well below 20 in the gusts.
I'd guess the gusts up high were easily in the 28mph range, while nothing showed near shore, and only a thimble full of sailors went out.
Strange, such a huge gradient between the ferry channel and the upper reaches near the houses by the school.
