Ah, but does Hawaii really exist, or is it just a vision put about by the lying windsurfing media (in the pay of the manufacturers) to make us spend our money on chasing the dream, with inappropriate gear?

We brain addled semi-liberals (Tuesdays, thursdays, and saturdays only) do love a good conspiracy theory! Wink

P.S. It seems to be getting cooler again over here. Bloody climate. Sick of it! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

A real meteorologist, you say.....

You mean, a guy who has been trained to stand in front of the camera waving his arms at a map? That guy?

Where did he earn his bachelor, master, and doctorate degrees in meteorology? Maybe in physics? How 'bout chemistry? Perhaps oceanography? Or an engineering degree -- ya know, deals with energy, heat and mass transport, thermal systems?

Yawn........................ more BS from Mr. BS.

Bard, did you really watch that video? Based on what he said, and how he said it, the guy is clearly bias in his view of things. He's a front man for folks that he doesn't talk about, and that's concerning. While he denies any links to carbon money, I seriously doubt it.

Bard-fake, fake, fake. Here's who John Coleman is:

A
Quote:
ccording to an article in Columbia Journalism Review, “Coleman had spent half a century in the trenches of TV weathercasting; he had once been an accredited meteorologist, and remained a virtuoso forecaster. But his work was more a highly technical art than a science. His degree, received fifty years earlier at the University of Illinois, was in journalism.” [1]

Background

Coleman is currently employed as the television weatherman for station KUSI in San Diego. Coleman has been a TV weatherman since he was a freshman in college in 1953 and is the founder of the Weather Channel until he was “forced out” a year after the Weather Channel went to air. [2]

A July 2002 article claims that “the relationship between Coleman and Landmark [Coleman's business partner] soured quickly in the face of larger-than-projected losses and, in Batten's view, declining staff morale. The two parted ways just over a year later, but not before airing their dirty laundry in court, Coleman departing the venture entirely.” [3]

Don't you feel a little silly presenting a journalist--and old and creaky journalist--as a scientist? Oh, that's right, you guys are shameless as well as gullible.

Master's in Civil Engineering. When I was considering whether or not to get a Phd, with two small kids, I was told that Phd students in engineering at Cal had to get a Master's in Statistics so they wouldn't make the kind of bone-headed and unprincipled claims that Coleman made. He cherry-picked a part of a long temperature data set, and then tried to make a point about the data. Only an uneducated fool or an unprincipled person would throw away the data that they didn't like and then claim that the truncated version made a particular point. But then the gybster loves unprincipled sources and cherry-picked data.

I was worried that an actual explanation about why Coleman was pimping the data might go over some folks head. I guess it did.

LOL, too funny, whodda thunkit. Talk about cherry-picking, there is no mention of the volcanic activity under the ice (which is there) in this study.
Like I said too funny.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Global warming is creating MORE ice: Antarctic levels reach a record high because of climate change, scientists claim
Claim was made by Mark Serreze, director of the National Snow and Ice Data Centre, when speaking to Harold Ambler at Talking About the Weather
Shift is caused by water melting from beneath the Antarctic ice shelves
Scientists claim it is then re-frozen back on surface, increasing sea ice
However Nasa warns that growing Antarctic sea ice is less significant a measure than declining Arctic sea ice when assessing climate change
Antarctica’s sea ice set a record this week, reaching 815,448 square miles (1,312,000 square km) of ice above its normal range
The only thing left out of the study is that Global Warming is the cause of the pause in warming, with some cooling, in the last 15 years.
I'll bet these scientists got a bonus check.
NW--did you actually know that the Antarctic is much colder than the Arctic--much below the freezing point of water? Now tell me how this means that climate is not changing?
