Hi All,

So, thinking of going to Lake Isabella this summer for a bit of lakeside camping and of course windsurfing!
Is that still possible? I know lake levels are down quite a bit in California
and not sure if it's still possible or allowed to windsurf at Isabella-not to mention camping lake side.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Greg

nothing has changed, except that the water level is very low - for all the gory details, see here https://www.facebook.com/groups/294638607227135/

In case you didn't read all the "gory details", here's why I'm not sailing the lake this year at all. From the above-mentioned Facebook page:

Eva Hollmann update: we had 2 more cases of diarrhea reported today, plus 2 respiratory complaints. not good! With temps down and wind up, the stuff had dispersed. But the stench remained

in case you did not read all the gory details: ill effects to algae have so far occurred only when it was unusually still and unusually warm, leading to strong algae blooms. We are free from algae scum on the surface at the moment, and free from symptoms
gotto go, wind's coming up!

Lake is low but still sailable. Certain areas have exposed stumps etc. Camping is the same.
