THanks for all the support.. Definitley had New England on my mind as part of the things I put into my mind to motivate me while in the heat of competition. I ended up in 10th place which was fair, but short of the foundation I was building in the early heats... It reminded me a lot like this years Bruins-Candaiens series, where all my shots were going of the metal..... Couple finals and losers finals where I really didn't capitalize in "crunch time", however was pleased with my gerenral performance and stamina through the qualifying rounds which nowadays all seem like finals as the level is extremely high at those events..... Looking forward with some time back in Nahant before off to Turkmenistan end of June.... How many people know about that country?

I liked how solidly you moved thru the ladders.
Consistency!
Sooner or later the pucks will drop in.
If you are home I hope you got some of todays E swell which should have penetrated all the way to your beach

Josh
Being a US citizen assume so, perhaps dual citizenship with Cape Verde, but now living in Massachusetts why continue to use CV1 as a sail number ?
the rationale being this IMO is not a debate, interested in only why

u2u2u2.... good question.....
One of the main thing's is when i changed to CV1, it was a heart move as well as a business move... The business side has far worn off but the heart is still there. I've considered switching back to a US number, but in all honesty, my career really went to new levels when I lived and represented CV. There was a moment of time there, which was extremely exciting for a kid from Hawaii and I hold it dear. At this stage of the game, changing just to change doesnt make sense. I'm an American through and through, but my "surfing college" makes me feel as a citizen of the world and there's a certain "uniquness " in having the CV on the sail. I honestly have a love/frustrate relationship with Cabo Verde... Frustration coming from beaurocracy, government etc. that at times makes me want to do nothing, but the LOve is from the people and the day to day lifestyle. At this point the whole story is just too far etched in stone, that it seems to me more trouble to change and in the media try and invent some "reason" of why I'm doing it. So here you have your 4th of july watermelon eating, Patriots Loving red blooded American who will continue to proudly fly CV1 on his sail . Not sure if any of it makes sense.... but ... it is what it is .... MUch Aloha!
