Hi,
I live in CdA and have heard decent things about Sprague, especially this time of year...especially Friday and Saturday of this week with SW 15-20 predicted straight through. What is the best wind direction for Sprague? Anything else to know?
Thanks! |

Why not just drive a little further, to the Gorge? It's only another couple of hours for FAR superior conditions. Technically, both are lakes, but the latter's current and fetch generates swell like nothing Sprague ever sees. I don't know how warm Sprague is yet; it was still frozen over a few weeks ago.
SW winds blow right up the lake's length, but an island at mid-lake surely doesn't help the swell. If you're after lighter winds and flatter water than the Columbia will have, Sprague might be an answer, but there are also flatter, lighter spots along the Columbia and Snake rivers with much more congenial access and conditions. |

As Isobars stated, Sprague cannot do what the Gorge can do. But if you're bound for Sprague, you could check this page for an idea of the surrounding wind speeds:
