Went 2 Maui 3 weeks after the second hand. Sailed for a week ever day.
The hand that was done 3 week's before got very sore and swell up but
I still sail all week. The hand 5 week's out was find. I had no proublem with the hand's after that week.

Because this is probably still an issue with the OP, considering the time frame, I thought I'd chime in as well.
I, like Randy, had both wrists done about 2-3 weeks apart a few years ago. But unfortunately for me, it happened right at the beginning of our windsurf season, late winter/early spring, so I had to miss the best part of that season, but I was back in action by middle/late summer with no problems.
The only warning my doc gave me was no bowling for a year,,,,,,, like I ever go bowling. Rolling Eyes
He said bowling is very hard on the wrists, and he's had to work on many bowlers. But I could go back to windsurfing whenever I felt comfortable to do it, assuming that I would be relying on my harness most of the time. So I did, and it worked out just fine, and still sailing strong.
My doc also told me that he took about 30 years off my wrists, "but as for the rest of your body, you're on your own".

What carpal tunnel surgery did u guy's do? Old style they cut the palm of your hand and it required several stitches and a longer recover. The newer surgery is minimally invasive (endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery) it only require's one 1/2 inch incision in the palm and no stitches close with super glue. A lot quicker recover time is needed. I know some dr still do it the old way.

Old school, about 6 or 7 stitches per palm, but I was pretty impressed with the recovery time, as well as the improvement.
I now have full strength grip like I was a teenager, and before I had to use two hands to turn the key to start my van.
