Frederick--made my morning. You might enjoy this update of the Weight with Mavis and Wilco: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WmlUXsjSv8

If we move to jazz there are many giants. Miles, Coltrane, Ben Webster, Ella, Billie, Joe Henderson, Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, and the last standing giant on piano, McCoy Tyner. But two of the best jazz albums of all time, which always reward a new listening, are the duets by Ella and Louis Armstrong. Best backing band ever--Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown, Herb Ellis, Louis Bellson. Louis came close to inventing jazz, and each year I teach my first graders "What a Wonderful World." Timeless.

For sure Los Lobos! Saw them at the Fillmore last month. Great show. They used to open for the Dead quite a bit...that's where I first saw them.

Also Neil Young and crazy horse.

This thread reminds me how much great music there is out there. Lucky us!

Just saw this guy. If he comes to your town, he is wicked. Cherry picked this off youtube. It is pretty difficult to sing this well and play guitar at the same time. This is his slow stuff, he can rock.
