Windsurf? We had trouble walking down to the water and the wind chill was super cold on my hands. The closer we got to the water the harder it was to stand up. I doubt we could have carried our gear down the stairs.

Rooster Rock is definitely in it's own weather pattern, it's been super windy most of last week, but with the high wind comes the wind chill which also makes it unsailable. It is something to see when it's that windy.

Wind graph from that day included below. Notice the gusts surpassing 80 mph.

Seems this would almost qualify for the Red Bull Storm Chase crew ... Pushing over 10 beaufort.

I remember Danny from Chiantis! He, Brandon Kindrick and I used to sail those eastelies together all winter long. Each of them, at different times had gear malfunctions that became life threatening situations. Danny rescued Brandon after his bogie broke and his board disappeared. He leashed his board to his harness after that. Danny broke a mast sailing solo and luckily some passerby saw him as he crawled onto the store, hyperthermic. We all quit winter sailing after that. I can still feel the adrenaline flowing when I look at those easlerly wind graphs! Ah, the memories...
