OK, so the problem seems to be the big high pressure area that's bumping the wind-giving storms up north of us. Sure, we've had a lot of amazingly beautiful weather, but really, we need some rain, snow, and WIND!

Here's my idea: We wait until the high is positioned over Utah, then take all those nuclear weapons that we're never going to use anyway, and set them off right underneath the high. This will create an upward-moving column of air, which I learned in meteorology class is associated with low pressure. We'll turn the high to a low, and presto! Problem solved!

What about Utah, you ask? We don't need it, except for skiing, and we can go skiing in Wyoming & Idaho instead. Since the winds in these latitudes are predominantly westerlies, all the radioactive fallout will go east, so no problem there, either.

Write your congressman!

Oh great! Just wait until I get back to Hood River in May before you decide
to nuke Utah please.

-Craig

p.s. I've skied in Wyoming and Idaho, and it's not as good there.
p.p.s You should take that new board to Mohave, the current weather
pattern should be really good for windsurfing there.

Lake Mojave can be awesome, but it's 6 hours away, too far for just a weekend.

I'd also argue that Jackson Hole is as good as anywhere!

Well, 6 hours, easier to nuke Utah then.

I've spent some really excellent days at Jackson Hole. I stand by
my statement.
