I'm looking for a used 430 std mast (IMCS 21, around 30% carbon). If you have one or know someone that might be selling in the CT area, please let me know.

Feel free to direct me to another forum if this is not the right one for this topic.

Thanks,
Oscar

you may wish for 50% carbon or more. most 30% carbon masts are noticeably yucky once you've tried better.

regardless of make, carbon, etc ...

MOST of the windsurf items for sale here are in CA
some are in FL
where is everyone selling n buying their stuff ?? example: CT in this case
locally in MTL we have 4 or 5 shops - if you count Sharks - now a kite shop
example: http://www.2-rad.com/North_Sails_Silver_430_Mast_C_Condition_p/zu-2270-2.htm and will ship
even WorldSails in Cape Code does not have a mast section

on a side note: what mast goes best with World Sails Blast anyway - soft, cc or hard top ??

Used SDMs, in my opinion, are generally a bit scary... They're pretty tough to inspect, and more importantly, people tend to keep a mast until they think that it's about to break (unless they get a new quiver of sails that requires a different bend curve, or switch to RDMs or something).

In any case, it's worth considering that Chinook offers a $223 brand new 40% 430 SDM, available from most any windsurf shop in the world.

Oh, and I agree with John- if you can afford more carbon, Go For It!! It's immediately noticeable by any sailor of any skill level.
