Mid Michigan is frozen and that's great! The Tuesday forecast looks perfect for SKATE SAILING. Four to six inches of snow sitting on Lake Lansing won't be a problem for my Frankenskates. Last year a fellow was KITE SKIING on the lake. I'd like to see more non-motorized fun out on the ice and snow. If you're in the L.L. area Tuesday around noon, look for my red 8'x10' hoptacong sail streaking across the lake, hopefully with me still attached to it. |

Here in Southwest Florida, the main changes in my winter sailing from my summer sailing are:
1. More wind and more waves more often.
2. Sometimes need a light wetsuit.
3. No longer jealous of conditions in the rest of the country.
Yesterday I was in swim trunks SUP'ing waist high peeling waves. Weather was just cool enough to not break a sweat.

I leave for Cape Town on Sunday. Can't wait. I heard it has been epic this December so far. Fly Virgin, take your own gear for free. |
