Any time someone gets cash from the government they should piss in a cup. As for the war on drugs, it is ludicrous. They are 2 different matters. |

the right wing media has been going hog wild on Obama for shaking a mans hand at a funeral..
at least he did not make a comparison to him being a american founding father. Yet the media does not play this up of McCain who was budies with Sadam and the likes before he was against him.
If I owned the media this picture would be front page and also asking us isn't reagun the one who we shoud blame the costs of these ME wars on and the destruction of the world trade center? the trillions we are spending in homeland defense not just the wars. So we have the idot reygun to blame... But note you will not find one media in the US doing this.

I've pissed in many a government cup, for both drugs and HIV. I support drug testing in general and especially in any armed forces, including cops ... hell, in ANY job or welfare scenario. An employee owes his "company" his full competence, and a recipient of public funded welfare owes it to his benefactors to spend THEIR money on necessities, not pot (or Play Stations or $100 sneakers.) Showing up at work hung over, let alone high, is a court martial offense where I worked for 20 years.
I read somewhere that drug use among welfare recipients is very rare. I don't believe it, especially considering how many middle and upper class people use drugs. |

So, Steve ...are you suggesting that if a mom on welfare, tests positive, she gets no welfare? Wouldn't that mean her kids get no food, and shelter...and for no fault of their own, they get screwed? |

| Boggsy--they are already screwed. Most of the children in my school who have emotional problems that are barriers to their education are in homes where there is drug abuse or violence. Alcohol manifests exactly the same as hard drugs, and violence almost the same. Those are the kids that Republican policies are leaving even further behind--so we jail them at 3 to ten times the cost. |
