Seems that it is all in bad taste--which is why sharks usually spit out humans?

Sharks won't bite lawyers - something to do with professional courtesy.

Yep, professional courtesy. Nor do sharks go after the children of lawyers. That's what I keep telling my kids now venturing into surf with seals present. That, and if you see a seal you are fine but if the seal suddenly goes away, get out of the water.

I reallyREALLY would like to know how many shark attacks were preceded by the victim taking a leak. Maui's leading shark expert told me urine attracts sharks at least as much as does blood.

I have to concur with Christian, that the local paramedics are incredibly professional. I needed them once on Maui, and they treated me like a king.
As for the 6 shark attacks this year, that is incredibly scary. I often hang out on the outside in light winds when I'm there. Often in blue water wondering what the hell is looking at me. Better keep my larger board handy now.
Iso, where did you come up with pissing? I believe it's true, but from Christian's story, this was a wrong place at the wrong time event.

I have "heard" this also. Mike, who is your "expert" and how long ago did you hear this? I've never seen any data or testing to support this.
