Hello, thanks you all for your greeting!!
Tarifa is two hours driving from Seville, but in fact, I only go to Tarifa when there are not enough wind in others spots closer to Seville (Cadiz and Caņos de Meca mainly)
These are our best Spots:
Tarifa: The best season is from March to September. The main winds are east wind (called Levante), and west wind (called Poniente). Levante blows from F4 Beaufort to F10, and Poniente from F2 to F5.
Caņos de Meca: It works also from March to September. When the Levante is strong in Tarifa, here you have more waves for jumping and surfing that in Tarifa
Cadiz; Here there are also many spots to go windsurfing. The best conditions are in winter, with south winds which brings waves..and rainings..
So here you have the key to go windsurfing in the south of Spain. Come soon!!!

welcome! and you are a lucky man to be situated where you are, awesome sailing spots. Took a 2 week trip to Tarifa once in august, really liked the place but got skunked with wind. Had light poniente wind the whole time and only got on the water about 3 days with big sails :/ Have to go back there again and find more wind! |

I'm very sorry, but in fact, the weather does what It wants lately... Almost I hope you enjoy the sightseeing
We have had a good conditions in the beginning of the year. Nice days with wind and waves (It's dificult to have this two things the same day...) but from june to now, we have had only a few goods days...
Here you have some pictures of Bolonia, by the month of april. Bolonia is one of the windsurfers favourite beach in Tarifa:

Welcome, I'm assuming that the east winds at Terifa are stronger than the west winds because of it's name (Levante,,,, to rise), if true, would that be the best time of year to visit, and/or windsurf it? |

The best season is from March to September. In that time, there are more windy days, and East and West wind blows 50% each other (When It blows, course...).
The rest of the year, there are less windy days, but there are better conditions for wave riding. That time is the good season for surf. There are less windy days, but more wave days
See you!! |

Looks fantastic - I'm sure you could find things to do if no wind. What do the water temperatures run? |
