Seriously, it's a huge turnoff to read this bilge on a Windsurfing Blog Forum. Go to your Hufffington Puffingtin Post or wherever to do do that!

Aw c'mon! The Bay Area's most picturesque launch site has been shut down by a monstrous political SNAFU. How is that not an appropriate topic for discussion right here?

(Just stay away from personal insults everyone, please...)

Senior citizens were told they had to immediately evacuate their homes because of the federal govt shutdown. (even though they owned the homes) Location, Lake Meade surrounded and on federal land.

More Kabuki theater from Obama, and just because the R's want him to sit down and negotiate. The ACA is not at risk. All the conservative want to do is eliminate the "Waivers" for Obama's friends, and or postpone it for a year.

I suspect the congress should just give him what he wants. Then instead of 90% of all new jobs being part time, 100% will be.

The GOP only wants to eliminate waivers for Obamas friends?

That was only Cruz's position. Currently all they want to do is discuss the budget, postpone the ACA for a year, and some want to eliminate the 1200 exemptions for large unions and corporations.

We, the little guys are currently required to adhere to Obama care. Corporations are not. How is this fair?

Well stated dv. Yes, one cannot afford to be completely anti-government if you windsurf. We use the roads quite effectively, and yes we use the parks, preserves, and federal lands religiously.

Bard, the next time you're up windsurfing in San Francisco, you might want take a moment and admire the world renowned Golden Gate Bridge from Crissy Field. No doubt, fine evidence of government dollars well spent.

Not only, but it would seem that if it was not for our government we would not be sailing at all. Almost every single spot in the Bay area would be gone or left at the mercy of private developers. Think Oyster Point/Genentech or Haskins and apply their fate to these ultra-prime-real-estate-developer-wet-dreams:

Palo Alto, in a nature preserve: gone
Third Ave, on the Bay trail: gone
Coyote, a County Park: gone
Candlestick, a State Park: gone
Crissy, on Federal Land, now Park: gone
TI, on ex-Federal Land: gone
Berkeley Marina, Berkeley Park: gone
Point Isabel, Regional Park: gone

We will still have Larkspur and Embassy (that is also on semi-sort-of-public land access, although it sucks with no ramp ... Crying or Very sad )

They own a cabin at lake Meade, not the land, they lease it from the feds and the lease states that they are to be 2nd vacation homes and not primary residences and that they have to have an alternative residence.
There rent was only $500 a year for over 25 years, and recently it was raised up TO $2400 a year.

Regarding kabuki theater, yup it is politics......I blame the GOP.

I think OUR President has been very Polite and Nice and reasonable in the face of total insulting belligerence from the Republicans.

If you get your information from FOX News, Breitbart or Rush Limbaugh and believe it that is the problem.

Ireland has almost as bad a government as we do and are voting to throw out Congress for the good of the country.
Can we do this?
